My 1st large purchase from Hobby Search

 Today I completed a nice purchase from Hobby Search that should tide me over for a little while. I got some parts a railbus and an excursion 3 car set what I forgot were some decoders but I think HS was out of them. The most anticipated item is a Japanese Koban that is laser cut cardboard kit. I've had a fascination with Kobans lately and will post some of the pics that I found on the internet of them.

Im going to preface this post by say that this post is in no way inclusive of want needs to happen in your decoder installation like the one I performed. You could blow up your decoder and need to get a new one however that didnt happen to me. This post will have pics and light on words except where needed.

Ive completed my first successful purchase from Hobby Search Japan

I just completed my first purchase through Hobby Search tonight. They have a strange system where you place an order with them then they send you an invoice via PayPal if thats your payment arrangement.
What did I purchase its a Kato 10-1834 Series E353 `Azusa, Kaiji` Standard Set (Basic 4-Car Set) (Model Train) N Scale,1/150 Electric Car. I've wanted this set for a while but Kato just released this set recently and Hobby Search had a good price on it and I wanted to see how there service was as they seem to have a big supply of N scale trains and parts. So this means I need to get the add on sets to make a 12 car train lol its never ends does it lol.

Yeah I know, I just ordered a 5 car add on set for the E353 arggggggggggggggggggh I really couldn't help it as the price was really too good to pass up and I ordered an EM113 decoder for the motor car of the basic set. I placed another order with Plaza Japan for the Kato 3 car E353 set so I'll have a 12 car set of the E353 series when they all show up. 

A couple of updates NCE USB interface and sending in the DZ126T in for repairs.

Yup I finally got a NCE USB interface to use so I can program decoders. I'm thinking about building a dedicated programming section.

Somehow the red wire on my DZ126T came off at the decoder so I'm sending it in for warranty repair. This sucks as I have no more decoders to use.

Today a Digitrax DZ126T showed up, I haven't installed a decoder in at least 10 years. I think the last decoder I installed was in a Tomix track cleaning car Which was actually successful believe it or not. The plan for the DZ126T is to install in in the recently arrived Hello Kitty 8 car Shinkansen. I think Ive found a good guide to use for the installation of the DZ126T, Its soooooooooooooooooooooo small you will never see it in the motor car even with a microscope.
