GreenMax JR 103 Series and TOMIX 0381/0382 Coupler Replacement

For some reason there is limited information on how to install TOMIX 0381/0382 couplers into GreenMax bogies. Today I give you instructions and pictures so you can do it yourself.

1) Remove the bogie from the car.

2) Turn the bogie upside down with wheels in the air. 

3) Press the coupler into bogie.

4) Rotate the coupler 90 degrees, then remove the coupler. 

5) Remove the spring and put it someplace safe.

6) Assemble the new TOMIX coupler and observe proper orientation.

7) Put the properly assembled TOMIX coupler into the bogie.

8) Put the spring back on the post.

9) Use tweezers to compress the spring between the post and the coupler.

10) Reattach completed bogie back onto the train car. 

11) You're done congratulations.

Update on DIY Train Controller

Today I installed a circuit breaker in the case of the DIY train controller. I installed the wrong circuit breaker now I need to order the correct one. I'm still waiting on the lighted power switches that are needed for the device. I also installed the lighted switch that arrived today.

Building a few GreenMax JR103 Series Cars

Ive finished building the basic rolling stock and will finish up by installing TOMIX couplers and details to the cars. I may pick up two more end cabs Kansai Type KUHA103 (1273C) to complete the set and bookcase.

The start of something small, A DIY 9V Train Controller.

Guess I've been looking at too much YouTube lately and I saw someone build a 9V train controller in a toy JRF container and I thought it would be a cool project. Below are some in progress pics of my controller I'm still waiting on a Circuit Breaker and a Lighted Power Switch.
